Daisy Hill are still searching for their first league win of the season in the North West Counties League First Division North after going down 1-0 at home to Nelson on Saturday.

In new manager Nicky Hunt’s first game in charge, a goal from Nelson’s Max Cane nine minutes from time dashed Daisy’s hopes of picking up at least a point.

It was a game that for periods was a dogged midfield battle, although in the first half it was Nelson who created the best chances, with match winner Cane always a threat.
