Daisy Hill FC have discovered that they have a new supporter who lives nearly 300 miles away in Dundee – and her name is Daisy Hill!

Daisy, who is 16 years old, and her mum Kelsey Hill became aware of the club when Kelsey saw a video on the Instagram account of the club’s stadium sponsor, the social media star Angry Ginge.

Ginge runs a team, Winton Yanited, who play their home games at Daisy Hill’s ground, the Ginge Power Stadium, and when she saw the club name on one of his vlogs, Kelsey admits she needed to double check to make sure she wasn’t mistaken.

“Angry Ginge mentioned Daisy Hill Football Club on his story on Instagram and there was a picture of the ground”, said Kelsey.

“And I thought, that can't be right.  But then I Googled it and it came up.  I was just so shocked that I’d come across a football club with my daughter's name.

“I did some digging around just to make sure that I wasn't seeing things, and that her name really was the same as a football club.

“You just don't ever expect your child's name to be the full name of a football club.  Maybe a first name or surname, but never a full name.
