Members from Catherine Cleary’s Daisy Hill Slimming World group have once again shown the incredible power of community spirit by collecting an amazing 127 bags of “slimmed out of clothes” as part of Slimming World’s Big Clothes Throw in support of Cancer Research UK.
The campaign encourages members to donate the clothes they no longer need after losing weight, helping to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research while celebrating their own personal success stories.
One member who went above and beyond was Daisy Hill slimmer Lynne, who has achieved an incredible 4 stone weight loss. Describing herself as “a bit of a shop-a-holic”, Lynne threw herself wholeheartedly into supporting the campaign, encouraging family and friends to donate too. Together, they collected a fantastic 24 bags towards the final total.
Slimming World Consultant Catherine Cleary said: “Yet again my fabulous members have really pulled together and to know we have raised a whopping £3,175 for Cancer Research UK makes me so proud. The Big Clothes Throw is always such a special campaign because every bag tells a story — of confidence gained, healthier lifestyles achieved and lives changed. To be able to celebrate our members’ success while also supporting such an important charity is incredibly emotional and inspiring.”
Cancer Research UK is Slimming World’s national charity partner, with Slimming World groups across the UK raising millions of pounds over the years through campaigns such as the Big Clothes bi Throw, helping to fund groundbreaking research and support people affected by cancer.
