Bolton police officers launched Operation AVRO on Thursday
A major police operation across Bolton on Thursday has led to 12 arrests, the execution of 17 warrants, and the seizure of drugs, cash, and off-road bikes.
Among the arrests was a man held on suspicion of possession of cannabis after officers discovered a cannabis farm at a property on Horsa Street in Tonge Moor.

The day of action, part of Operation AVRO, involved officers targeting crime hotspots across the borough, including early morning raids and roadside checks on Manchester Road. Officers also removed several vehicles from the road due to drivers lacking insurance or appropriate licences.

District Commander Helen Critchley confirmed that officers had recovered “a number of items including off-road bikes, cash and drugs” and thanked both the community and Greater Manchester Police teams for their support.
