A Westhoughton family is facing unimaginable heartbreak after a fire tore through their home in the early hours of Friday 16 May, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
The blaze, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault, forced Laura Longworth, her partner, and their three children—aged 16, 10, and just 1—to flee their rented home in the middle of the night. Thankfully, all five made it out safely. But their beloved family cats, Darlings and Floyd, tragically died in the fire.

With no home insurance and no belongings, the family are now relying on the kindness of others as they begin the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives. Laura’s brother, Logan Greenwood, has launched a fundraising campaign to support them through this traumatic time.
