Police arrest man in his 20s within hours after social media threat aimed at LGBTQ+ celebration

A man in his 20s has been arrested after making threats to drive through the Bolton Pride parade, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.

The threat, made via a post on social media, was reported to police earlier today whilst pride celebrations continued in the town.

Officers from the Bolton Neighbourhood Policing Team traced and arrested the individual on suspicion of malicious communications within a matter of hours.
