A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after being stopped in a Range Rover in Lostock, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
Officers on proactive patrol in the Bolton area in the early hours of Monday pulled over the vehicle, which had a number of men inside. Checks revealed that the Range Rover was fitted with false number plates.
During the stop, officers discovered a substantial amount of cash inside the vehicle. The 24-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of money laundering, and the vehicle was seized.
The man has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
A police spokesperson said: "PC Robinson and PC Essex were on proactive patrol when they stopped the vehicle. We are continuing our enquiries and anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police."
