A dramatic stoppage-time equaliser from Fulwood Amateurs substitute Glenn Steele earned his side a last gasp 2-2 draw and denied Daisy their first league win of the season.
Steele’s goal topped an amazing late comeback for ten man Fulwood against a Daisy side who were two goals up thanks to a Liam Sheppard double, but in the end had to settle for a share of the points.
It was a game that burst into life in the second half, after an opening 45 minutes that saw both sides largely cancel one another out, with clear chances few and far between.
The nearest to a goal came on 28 minutes, when Fulwood’s leading scorer Spencer Lucas found the back of the net with a shot from the edge of the box, but the goal was ruled out by the flag of the assistant referee.
However, the second half got off to an explosive start when Daisy took the lead inside the opening minute.
The architect of the goal was Joao Soares, whose driving run into the box ended with a shot that was blocked, but the ball fell neatly into the path of Sheppard, who pounced to fire into the far corner of the net.
