A new photography exhibition opens tomorrow at Westhoughton Library, continuing a growing local tradition of cultural exchange and warm community connection.

The exhibition, titled "Our Westhoughton in Sight," has been compiled and curated by eleven members of the town’s British National (Overseas) Hong Kong community. It follows a moving and memorable event in March, where Po Ling Chan shared the story of how, why, and when many Hongkongers made the journey to settle in Westhoughton. Her talk was accompanied by the first version of this photographic display – capturing what life here looks like through the eyes of new residents.

Since then, the exhibition has expanded with new images and insights, offering a richer view of how Westhoughton is seen, experienced, and loved by those making it their new home. The updated collection will remain on display on the ground floor of Westhoughton Library until 31 May.

Po Ling, whose engaging talk in March helped spark renewed local interest in Westhoughton's immigrant communities, will be present at the exhibition on a regular basis. Visitors are warmly encouraged to stop by, say hello, and take the opportunity to meet both her and others from this growing and much-valued part of our town. The library is closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and on the 26 May Bank Holiday.
