The owner of Amore Coffee and Desserts, which recently closed its doors after eight years, has announced plans to reopen the business under a new name and with a new focus.

Rachel Mort, who ran the Manchester Road coffee shop since it opened in 2017, made the decision to close in March 2025, citing the stress and challenges that came with running the café. At the time, she described feeling a lack of personal growth, sharing with customers that while the café had brought her many beautiful connections, it also brought “stress, worry, entrapment and no room for my own personal growth.”

In a new social media post, Rachel explained that she is “having to build from the ground up, piece by piece” and that the process will be more fluid than fixed. “My vision is bigger than decorative flowers and a new menu,” she said. “These are just the building bricks I have to start the foundation, however there is so much more to come.”
