Get Giddier’s Killer Comedy Club brings comedy scene to life

There’s something special about a sold-out comedy night, and in Leigh, the buzz of a thriving comedy scene is real. Get Giddier’s Killer Comedy Club, hosted at Leigh Spinners Mill, brings fresh energy to an industrial space that links the old with the new.

Get Giddier, founded by Clementine Bogg-Hargroves and Lewis Coleman, produces acclaimed theatre, podcasts, and comedy. Through the Killer Comedy Club, run by Coleman and comedian Harry Stachini, whose 2024 Edinburgh Fringe show Grenade sold out and earned a Best Show nomination, they bring some of the UK’s best comedians to Leigh. Stachini’s latest show, Lobster, also draws acclaim on tour, cementing his reputation.

The evening is MC’d by Stachini, whose sharp wit holds no prisoners from the moment he steps on stage. He jokes with a group of women from Droylsden about returning to their local venue and draws laughs over the mill’s faulty lights. Another audience member, an artist, becomes the target of a few playful jokes, with the crowd quick to join in. Stachini’s effortless interaction sets a lively, playful tone throughout.
